ERIN + RYAN

For my third Live Wedding painting, I ventured down to Amelia Island, Florida to paint for Erin and Ryan. Erin's mom found me on Etsy and wanted to surprise Erin with a live painter and I said of course I would love to :)

She wanted a painting of their first dance,. I arrived early,  scoped out the area, planned out my composition and got started. When I was just about done mapping everything out, it started to rain... I quickly moved my things to a dry spot and was able to keep working. The rain wasn't so bad at first, but when we realized a probable storm was coming, the call was eventually made to actually move the wedding, not just inside, but inside a building that was a few miles away. I did my best not to panic, packed up my things and set up in the new space. While the venue staff was QUICKLY resetting tables and setting up bars, I continued to paint. The staff did an amazing job and got everything moved and setup within about 30 minutes. 

All that to say, the wedding reception did not actually take place in this spot that I painted. But since I was pretty far into the painting when we moved, and I knew Erin and Ryan had this vision for their reception, I decided to keep painting this scene. And now this represents what "could have been."

Regardless of all the chaos, this was an incredibly beautiful night. Erin ad Ryan's friends and families were some of the nicest people I've ever encountered. Truly just so happy to be celebrating love.
